Some have called them brave, others have come up with some quite different adjectives to describe the three members of staff from RfM’s Ulverston office who will be quite literally ‘hot footing’ it along to Barrow Rugby stadium on Saturday 27th February to take part in a Charity Firewalk. Ouch!
The event has been organised by Barrow Raiders RLFC to raise much needed funds for the club. All the participants have also been invited to nominate their chosen charity to benefit from the fundraising activity. All funds raised will be split equally between the club and the chosen charities.
Managing Partner Elaine Harris, Farm Accounts and VAT Manager Tracie Roberts and Business Development Manager David McKendry have put themselves forward to take part in the event to and will be raising funds for Furness General Hospital’s Oncology Unit. They have chosen this cause as it is close to the hearts of many family members and friends, who over the years have been thankful for the special care and treatment received from the wonderful staff.
Exactly what’s in store for our intrepid three is still a bit of a mystery to everyone – including our three ‘foot’ soldiers who will be baring their ‘soles’ (sorry!) for the walk of flames.
“We do hope there’s some sort of hypnotism involved prior to us stepping on the hot coals!” said Tracie. “However, if that’s not the case, we may need a drink – or two – to calm our nerves!”
If you would like to support Elaine, Tracie and David, you can call in to the Ulverston or Barrow offices and complete the sponsor form. Alternatively, you can post a cheque to RfM’s offices in Ulverston or Barrow, with your full name and address including postcode. Cheques should be made payable to RF Miller & Co.
Thank you.
