Colleagues from RfM Preston have been ‘casually’ fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice. Simply by swapping tailoring for t-shirts every Friday they have raised an amazing £800 for the local charity.

RfM Marketing Co-ordinator Alison Winstanley presents the cheque to donor development officer Emma Jacovelli
Staff from the RfM Chartered Accountants in Leyland were delighted to present a cheque for their donation of £800 to the charity on Friday 3rd March. The money has been raised by all the staff at the practice who pay to take part in ‘dress-down Friday’ each week. The donation also included funds raised on RfM Preston’s festive Christmas Jumper Day in aid of the hospice.
A worthy local cause
Alison Winstanley, Marketing Co-ordinator for RfM Accountants presented the cheque on behalf of all the staff. “We have been holding our dress down Fridays for a number of years now and, over that time, have raised a lot of money for local charities.
“We chose to fundraise for St Catherine’s Hospice because we know how important the specialised care is to the local community.
“Last year, my colleague and I were invited to visit the hospice. We were able to see first hand the important work that is done and what a worthy cause it is.”
Specialised care
Donor development officer, Emma Jacovelli, received the cheque on behalf of the hospice. “St Catherine’s Hospice provides a unique range of services to help people who are facing life-shortening illnesses, enabling them to be as comfortable as they can, at home or in the hospice.
“This generous donation of £800 from RfM Chartered Accountants means we’re able to continue providing specialised care to people who are facing conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease, cancer, heart failure and MS, so they can avoid unnecessary time in hospital and experience a good quality of life whilst maintaining their independence, and when the time comes, have comfort and dignity in death.”
If you would like to support us with our fundraising efforts, simply call in to the Leyland office on any Friday and pass on your donation at reception. But don’t forget to wear your jeans…
