On Saturday 4th August, members of the team from RfM’s Ulverston and Barrow offices will be taking on the gruelling Total Warrior challenge to raise money for local charity Mind In Furness. They’ll be battling through mud, water ice and fire… can you help them smash their fundraising target of £1,000?
A passion for helping others
Since launching the distinctive + more brand, the staff at RfM have proved they are definitely more than just accountants, and also revealed a passion for helping others. The last few years have seen them playing golf, dressing down (and up), collecting Christmas trees and even walking on fire in the name of charity.
Their latest fundraising efforts will see 15 crazy – sorry, I mean determined – members of staff and friends of the firm tackle the 25 punishing obstacles that make up the 10km Total Warrior course. They have chosen local charity Mind In Furness to benefit from the money they raise in sponsorship.
Mind provides advice and support to help anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They also campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health issues.
The work the charity does plays an important part in improving the quality of life of people suffering from, or with the potential to suffer from, mental distress. They hold a weekly men’s and women’s group and there is also a fortnightly Hearing Voice Group in the area. The team at RfM understand the importance of the work they do and want to support them to make a difference.
